Applications Accepted Until January 31
Taean County in Chungnam Province will carry out a residential environment improvement project for rural housing next year to create a pleasant and safe living environment.
The county plans to invest a total project budget of 936 million KRW next year to promote the ‘Rural Residential Environment Improvement’ project, which includes rural housing renovation, vacant house maintenance, and slate removal projects. Applications will be accepted until January 31 next year.
First, the rural housing renovation project provides benefits such as acquisition tax reduction to homeowners wishing to renovate old or deteriorated houses in rural and fishing villages. Applications are available for houses where the total floor area, including the main house and any annexes, does not exceed 150 square meters.
The total project volume for next year is 60 houses. Selected recipients can receive up to 2.8 million KRW in acquisition tax reduction. If applying for a loan, they may choose between a fixed (2%) or variable interest rate, with a maximum loan limit of 250 million KRW and repayment available in installments for up to 19 years.
For the vacant house maintenance project, owners of houses that have been unoccupied and left unattended for over a year are eligible to apply. The support amount per house has increased by 1 million KRW from this year, up to a maximum of 6 million KRW per house.
When applying, an official will visit the site to check the vacancy status and whether there is access for heavy equipment. The project will cover a total of 50 houses next year.
The slate removal project is open to owners of buildings with slate roofs and non-residential structures (such as livestock sheds and warehouses). Up to 7 million KRW is provided per residential building (including annexes), and for non-residential buildings, support is available within a slate area of 200 square meters. Next year, the project will cover a total of 164 buildings, including 146 residential and 18 non-residential structures.
Residents wishing to apply should visit the Rapid Permit Division on the first floor of the county office by January 31 next year to submit their application. After the application deadline, the county will conduct site inspections and select recipients, with the project set to begin in March.
A county official stated, “We will continue to promote residential environment improvement projects to ensure stable housing conditions and raise the housing standards for vulnerable groups,” and added, “We hope for the active interest of our residents in this project, which aims to enhance residential welfare and create a more pleasant living environment.”
