Seosan City in Chungnam held the '2024 Senior Academy Graduation Ceremony' on the 17th.
The Senior Academy flexibly operates a variety of educational programs and clubs in different fields to help seniors lead healthy and happy lives.
This year's Senior Academy was held at the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center from February to December, and the graduation ceremony took place at the Seosan City Cultural Center with Mayor Lee Wan-seop, about 600 graduating seniors, and other attendees present.
Representing the 695 graduates this year, Kim Jeongbu, the Chairman of the Senior Academy Operations Council, received a graduation certificate. Awards were also presented to club presidents, general managers, and exemplary students who contributed to the unity of the graduates.
Afterwards, the graduates showcased performances in nine fields, including Pungmul, traditional dance, Nanta, and line dance, which they had practiced throughout the year at the Seosan City Cultural Center, celebrating their graduation with family members.
Mayor Lee Wan-seop said, "Congratulations on graduating from the Senior Academy. We will continue to implement various policies to ensure a vibrant and energetic life for our seniors."
Meanwhile, the city plans to begin accepting applications for the 2025 Senior Academy in mid-January next year.
