Goryeong County (Governor Lee Nam-cheol) held a residents' briefing session on the 17th at the Daegaya Cultural Nuri Gayageum Hall, attended by about 100 residents including village heads.
The briefing session was organized to enhance residents' understanding and gather opinions regarding the designation of the Goryeong Daegaya Ancient Capital (古都) designated district, informing residents about the plan to establish the designated district for the preservation and promotion of the Daegaya Ancient Capital.
The session explained the background of the designated district establishment, expected effects, and key plans, and also provided time to directly listen to the opinions of attending residents.
The Daegaya Ancient Capital is an important area preserving historical and cultural value, and through this designated district establishment, systematic preservation and regional development are expected to be achieved simultaneously. Upon designation, plans will be pursued to maintain the historical identity of the ancient capital while improving residents' living environments and revitalizing local tourism.
Governor Lee Nam-cheol of Goryeong emphasized, “Our goal is to preserve the historical value of the Daegaya Ancient Capital while achieving sustainable development through cooperation with local residents. This briefing session will be an important first step in the process of listening to residents' voices and creating together.”
