HMG Group, a real estate development specialist led by Chairman Kim Hanmo, announced on the 18th that it will carry out a large-scale private urban development project for a total of 3,949 residential units in Jangseong-dong, Seowon-gu, Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province.
The ‘Cheongju Sinbunpyeong Urban Development Project’ will be developed in three blocks across Seowon-gu. Block 1, consisting of 1,448 units, is set to be launched for sale in February next year. In addition to residential land and semi-residential facilities, various infrastructure such as parks and elementary schools will also be established.
By block, Block 1 will feature 1,448 apartment units ranging from 59㎡ to 112㎡. Block 2 will consist of 993 units, also ranging from 59㎡ to 112㎡. Block 3 will offer 1,508 units sized between 59㎡ and 84㎡. With a total of 3,949 units, the project is mainly composed of highly preferred small- and medium-sized units, and is expected to become a landmark-scale residential town representing Cheongju in the future.
The ‘Cheongju Sinbunpyeong Urban Development Project’ boasts excellent proximity to major industrial complexes in the Cheongju area, making it ideal for those seeking to live close to their workplace. Several completed industrial zones such as Osong Bio Science Complex, Osong 2nd Bio Science Complex, Cheongju General Industrial Complex, and Ochang Science Industrial Complex, as well as ongoing developments like Cheongju Ochang-eup Technopolis, Bugi Industrial Complex, Cheongju High-Tech Valley, and Namcheongju Hyeondo General Industrial Complex, are all within a 30-minute drive, ensuring convenient commuting.
In particular, the Cheongju Technopolis, spanning 3.8 million square meters and currently about 94% complete, is expected to become a leading domestic semiconductor cluster, as SK Hynix has announced an additional investment plan worth 20 trillion KRW. Numerous other industrial complexes, including Cheongju Classic Smart Valley Industrial Complex, are also under development.
The ‘Cheongju Sinbunpyeong Urban Development Project’ also offers an excellent educational environment, with highly preferred schools in close proximity. Nearby are Namseong Elementary and Middle School, Saegwang High School, Chungbuk High School, Cheongju National University of Education, Chungbuk National University, and Seowon University.
HMG Group, which is carrying out the ‘Cheongju Sinbunpyeong Urban Development Project,’ is recognized as one of Korea’s leading developers, having supplied a total of approximately 21,000 units since its founding.
The group has successfully completed real estate development projects across the country, including 548 units in Jeju English Education City, 1,234 units in Ulsan Songjeong District, 543 units in Seongnam Godeung District, 594 units in Baegun Valley, Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province, 1,766 units in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, and 1,350 units in Sejong City.
Several other large-scale projects, such as Daejeon Doan Phase 2 and Gwangju Numun District, are also scheduled for next year. In addition to real estate development and marketing, HMG Group has been actively expanding its business areas, including the acquisition of Kansus Asset Management in 2019.
