"Discussed with Myeong Taegyun about himself and future political schedule"
"No special issues around Changwon Prison regarding martial law party"
Park Jumin, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who met with Myung Taekyun while he was incarcerated, refrained from disclosing specific details of their conversation. After speaking for 30 minutes, Park is expected to continue discussions with Myung through future visits to Changwon Prison.
On the 18th, Park appeared on MBC, CBS, and CBS radio programs to explain the process of meeting with Myung.
Park introduced, "(Myung) talked extensively about his current situation, his case, and his views and thoughts on the current and upcoming political schedules." However, he said it was "difficult to talk" about the specific details.
Regarding the conversation, Myung mainly led the discussion. It is known that the conversation also touched on the "golden phone" containing call records with President Yoon and his wife. However, Park explained, "Myung requested that the contents be kept confidential," adding, "The conversation itself is not concluded, so I will talk about it as things progress."
Regarding the alleged connection between President Yoon's declaration of martial law on the 3rd and Myung, no significant findings appear to have been made. Park explained, "I asked the warden of Changwon Prison if any orders were given to the prison or its surroundings during the martial law, and the warden said there were none." Myung has claimed through his lawyers that if the martial law had not been lifted early, he would have been punished.

Considering the short time, Park mostly listened to Myung's story but asked why Myung contacted him despite not knowing him well. Regarding this, he introduced, "Myung said he had a dream in the past about a plane crashing, which led Mrs. Geom Geonhee to cancel her visit to Angkor Wat. After looking at the list of lawmakers, he felt a certain intuition and chose me."
Park also shared how the meeting with Myung came about. In a CBS radio interview, he explained, "On the 13th of last month, Myung called, but since we were not acquainted and I did not know his number, I did not answer. Then I received a text saying he was Myung Taekyun and wanted me to call him back." He continued, "After some consideration, I called back, and he said he would definitely be detained and told me to visit on the 12th if that happened." He added, "He asked me to keep the phone call confidential, so I agreed and applied for a visit, but the prosecution's investigation schedule came up, so the visit was rescheduled to the 17th."
