Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 18th that it will launch the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model of the E-Class, the 'E 350 e 4MATIC with EQ Hybrid Technology.'
The newly introduced 'E 350 e 4MATIC with EQ Hybrid Technology' is a new trim added to the 11th generation E-Class launched in January. It offers both driving performance and efficiency through a combination of an inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor, and is equipped with safety and convenience features preferred by domestic customers, such as the TMAP AUTO, a Tmap-based in-vehicle navigation system.
This vehicle is equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s 4th generation PHEV system. Through a 95 kW electric motor, it can drive purely on electricity for up to 77 km (based on domestic certification standards) without using the internal combustion engine. The 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, and the electric motor delivers a maximum torque of 440 Nm from the moment the vehicle starts.
The E 350 e 4MATIC with EQ Hybrid Technology is the first Mercedes-Benz vehicle to be equipped with TMAP AUTO. Drivers can use the augmented reality navigation function linked with TMAP AUTO directly from the vehicle’s own system without the need for a separate external application connection.
The vehicle’s exterior emphasizes luxury with three horizontal twin louvres on the radiator grille and a vertical emblem on the hood. Additionally, digital light, which projects lane-keeping symbols onto the road via the headlamps during driving to enhance nighttime driving safety, is available for use after purchase.
The vehicle is equipped with the 3rd generation MBUX infotainment system. This provides a routine function that supports automated vehicle settings and offers various third-party applications such as YouTube, Zoom, Angry Birds, and TikTok through in-vehicle data. In particular, it provides various domestic music streaming services and OTT platforms tailored for Korean consumers, including Essential, Flo, Melon, and Wavve.
The latest driving assistance system, the Driving Assistance Package Plus, is also installed. It includes Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, which maintains distance from the vehicle ahead and supports automatic speed adjustment, braking, and starting, as well as Active Steering Assist, which detects lanes through a 360-degree camera. The vehicle price is 97 million KRW (including VAT).
