Choi Innyeong, CEO of Wando Moolsan Fisheries Cooperative, Receives Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award

Contribution to Enhancing the Excellence of Gim and Promoting Export Vitalization

The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Han Sangwon) announced on the 18th that Choi Innyeong, CEO of Wando Moolsan English Cooperative Corporation, received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy at the 29th Korea Distribution Awards ceremony.

Now in its 29th year, the Korea Distribution Awards have been recognizing companies and individuals who have contributed to the development of the domestic distribution industry. The awards are organized by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Maeil Business Newspaper, and hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

This year, CEO Choi was recognized for her contributions to enhancing the quality and excellence of Korean seaweed (gim), a leading K-food product, by introducing a one-stop production system for everything from raw gim to seasoned gim. Her efforts have helped gim become the top exported seafood product from Korea.

Through relentless research and development and aggressive new product development, she has launched seven product lines and 22 products. With proactive overseas marketing, she has consistently increased exports every year and contributed to globalizing the taste of Korea.
