This awards ceremony, organized by the Beautiful School Movement Headquarters, honored 17 organizations, including the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, for their contributions to spreading the culture of ESG management. The provincial office, which was the first among education offices nationwide to introduce ESG in accordance with the fourth term of direct election pledges, established and introduced an ESG Support Center last year, enacted ordinances for ESG education and practice, and formed the ESG Education Development Committee to lay the foundation for ESG initiatives.

This year, they are promoting projects such as ▲ESG practice project management ▲visiting ESG awareness education ▲parent competency enhancement workshops ▲operation of the ESG Education Development Committee ▲operation of ESG networks with related organizations ▲support for the spread of ESG values, and more. In particular, the focus will be on ESG practices in the governance (G) planning sector to overcome educational crises such as climate and environmental challenges and declining school-age populations, with the aim of realizing sustainable education in Jeonnam.

Jung Byungguk, Director of Educational Autonomy, stated, "The value of sustainable Jeonnam education ESG, introduced for the grand transformation of Jeonnam education, has now been recognized nationwide," and added, "Next year, we will make multifaceted efforts, including expanding dedicated ESG personnel, to further vitalize ESG management at the provincial office of education."
