80 Stores Participate in Antique Furniture Street

Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) will hold the ‘Itaewon Christmas Flea Market & Vin Chaud Day’ on December 20-21 around the Itaewon Antique Furniture Street. This event offers an opportunity to experience the year-end Christmas atmosphere created by European-style antique furniture and accessories.

Yongsan-gu will hold the Itaewon Christmas Flea Market & Vin Chaud Day in the Itaewon Antique Furniture Street area on the 20th and 21st. Provided by Yongsan-gu.

The event consists of an antique Christmas flea market, vin chaud (mulled wine) and wine tasting, cultural performances, and commemorative photo zones. The flea market will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with participation from about 80 stores in the Itaewon Antique Furniture Street area. Visitors can find antiques, handmade crafts, Christmas decorations, furniture, and lighting equipment at reasonable prices.

The vin chaud and wine tasting will operate from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tasting and food booths will be set up at Daebu Antique (99 Bogwang-ro), across from the Oebin Garage bus stop (51 Noksapyeong-daero 26-gil), and the Antique Shelter. Nighttime scenery will also be created with light decorations.

Local artists will perform carols throughout the streets. A large Christmas tree will be installed so visitors can take commemorative photos at the event site.

Prepared in cooperation with the merchants' association, commercial district planners, and local artists as part of the Neighborhood Commercial District Development Center support project selected by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. The Neighborhood Commercial District Development Center project underway in the Itaewon Antique Furniture Street area is a preliminary stage of the Ministry’s commercial district revitalization project. Based on this year’s activities, it will lay the foundation for governance formation, a commercial district living lab, archiving, and a five-year strategic plan. This will be utilized for future support of commercial district revitalization projects.

District Mayor Park Hee-young said, “The Itaewon Christmas Flea Market & Vin Chaud Day will be a festival created together by local merchants and visitors beyond simple consumption. We hope everyone visits Itaewon with their loved ones to create warm year-end memories.”
