First Investment After Joint Management by EQT Partners and SK Square
SK Shieldus announced on the 18th that it will acquire SecureAire, an integrated security control solution company based on an artificial intelligence (AI) platform.
SK Shieldus completed the acquisition process of SecureAire after receiving final approval from the Fair Trade Commission's corporate merger review earlier this month. SK Shieldus will acquire a 66.7% effective stake in SecureAire and incorporate SecureAire as a subsidiary.
This acquisition is the first large-scale investment since EQT Partners and SK Square began jointly managing SK Shieldus. The industry expects SK Shieldus's acquisition to become a new driving force for revitalization within the information security market.

First, SK Shieldus is advancing its security control platform, 'Secudium,' to enable remote security control services based on the latest technologies such as AI through this acquisition. In particular, it is focusing on building a security control platform capable of global service expansion by internalizing SecureAire's data analysis technologies.
SK Shieldus plans to retain SecureAire's key management, including CEO Jeon Ju-ho, as is. This is to maximize synergy and pursue a sustainable growth strategy by ensuring consistency and autonomy in research and development (R&D) and business strategy.
Hong Won-pyo, CEO of SK Shieldus, said, “This acquisition of SecureAire will be an important turning point for SK Shieldus to solidify its position as a leading information security company in South Korea and to actively enter the global security market. Along with advancing the security control platform, we will provide customers with enhanced security services and actively participate in innovation in the global information security market.”
