"Voices in the Music Industry Are Very Weak"

On the 16th, Kim Gap-su appeared on the YouTube channel 'Maebul Show' and mentioned Lim Young-woong together with host Choi Wook. First, Choi Wook said, "Our core message was miscommunicated. There are far more entertainers who did not speak out about the insurrection." He added, "I am not criticizing Lim Young-woong for not speaking out. I have never said that, nor should I," and explained, "I have no time to criticize Lim Young-woong. My argument is that we need to unite our national strength in one place."

In response, Kim Gap-su expressed agreement, saying, "The only person who has actively spoken out is Lee Seung-hwan," and "Looking at the reaction of the music industry, it is so weak it is almost sad. The voices are very faint." He continued, "The martial law was lifted within a few hours, so it seems to come from ignorance. They do not really understand what martial law means," and pointed out, "They do not realize that the democratic republic is collapsing and that it is becoming a totalitarian or North Korean-style society."

He also said, "This is not a political dispute, and it is not something you can be ignorant about. It is something you really need to know," adding, "This is a matter concerning the survival of the democratic republic. If you are someone who pursues democracy, you should raise your voice at times like this. If you do not, when will you speak out as a professional?" He further added, "The gist of my message is to urge entertainers to break their silence and overly passive behavior by saying 'It is time to raise your voice at least once.'"

Earlier, on the 7th, just before the vote on President Yoon's impeachment motion, Lim Young-woong posted a message on his social media account celebrating his pet dog's birthday. A netizen who saw this sent a message saying, "What are you doing in this situation?" Lim Young-woong replied, "What?" The netizen said, "The whole nation is gathered over the impeachment motion against the president who declared martial law unconstitutionally. I don't expect you to raise your voice, but you are really insensitive. Aren't the people who experienced the previous martial law your main fan base?" In response, Lim Young-woong reportedly said, "Am I a politician? Why should I raise my voice?"

Later, on the 9th, Kim Gap-su criticized through 'Maebul Show,' saying, "Attitudes like Lim Young-woong's message show a lack of basic civic literacy. When such things are revealed, they can be questioned and criticized," and added, "Even if you cannot actively act or speak out, if you take a bystander attitude to escape like that, you should be considered unqualified as a Korean who has made history difficult until now." Choi Wook also said, "I was very angry and annoyed as soon as I saw it, but now I think this is not the time for me to be annoyed about this," and revealed, "I have no desire to be close to Lim Young-woong, but I do not want to talk about that now."
