"The Production Team's Complacent Attitude Is the Problem"

The Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) has decided to hear statements from related parties regarding JTBC's 'Divorce Reflection Camp Refresh.'

"Even for 19+ Broadcasts, It's Excessive"…KCSC Takes Corrective Measures on 'Divorce Reflection Camp' Statements JTBC 'Divorce Reflection Camp Refresh'. JTBC.

The KCSC judged that 'Divorce Reflection Camp Refresh' "aired content that could cause discomfort to viewers by showing a husband verbally abusing his wife while intoxicated and broadcasting sensational content, as well as featuring medical experts who generalized male sexual desire without objective evidence, thereby potentially promoting stereotypes about gender roles."

Commissioner Kim Jeong-su pointed out, "Although reasons for divorce are private matters, conversations within the household are being exposed without filtering," and added, "The production team's complacent attitude that ratings are more important even if sanctions are imposed is problematic."

Chairperson Ryu Hee-rim also criticized, "Reality programs include overly explicit expressions and private matters, even addressing sexual relations. Even though the program is rated 19+ (restricted to youth), it is excessive."

The KCSC also decided to hear statements from related parties regarding the three major terrestrial broadcasters' entertainment programs that excessively used profanity or discriminatory expressions. The subjects include SBS's 'Running Man,' where cast members said phrases like "Eoussi," "I'll kill you," and "The teacher who recognized the fundamentally ruined person," which were also displayed as subtitles; MBC's 'Hangout with Yoo,' which muted the phrase "Ji○hane" and broadcast the phrase "What the hell are you doing, you bastard?" along with subtitles.

KBS's '1 Night 2 Days' was also included in the statement hearing due to expressions such as "The Yodang River match that the world will pay attention to" and the phrase "Short legs all have their uses?" along with subtitles.
