On the 17th, "Double Play" Criticism on Facebook
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon criticized the Democratic Party of Korea and its leader Lee Jae-myung, saying, "The existence of Lee Jae-myung, who is so engrossed in playing the 'retired king' as if he is already president, is the greatest risk to South Korea's economy and politics."
On the 17th, Mayor Oh wrote on Facebook, "Lee Jae-myung's double play has gone too far." He pointed out, "(Leader Lee) met with James Kim, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea, yesterday and spoke flattering words like 'an opportunity to buy South Korea at a low price, an opportunity to invest,' while behind the scenes, he continues the parliamentary outrage that strangles businesses."

He added that the Democratic Party's unilateral passage of the National Assembly Testimony and Inspection Act amendment is "no different from a law that prevents corporate investment." Mayor Oh elaborated, "The amendment to the National Assembly Testimony and Inspection Act contains anti-business and anti-capitalist provisions requiring businesspeople to attend the National Assembly remotely even during overseas business trips or illness, and to submit all trade secrets to the National Assembly."
He continued, "Isn't Leader Lee ashamed of repeatedly engaging in such deception, not only this time but also with the financial investment tax and the Commercial Act amendments?" He said, "Despite the utmost importance of mitigating economic and diplomatic risks caused by political instability, they continue reckless impeachment drives."
Regarding the bill unilaterally passed by the Democratic Party, he also argued that Prime Minister and Acting President Han Duck-soo should exercise his veto power. Mayor Oh said, "They threaten impeachment if Acting President Han exercises his veto, but passing laws that kill the economy as they are would be dereliction of duty." He urged, "Acting President Han should not succumb to political intimidation and should boldly exercise his right to request reconsideration."
Mayor Oh emphasized, "If Leader Lee truly cares about the economy, he should immediately repeal the bill and return to the National Assembly. The public is watching sternly the double play of talking about economic recovery with words while strangling businesses behind the scenes."
