The time when travelers most frequently paid for airline tickets was Monday at 1 PM, with bookings made 6 months to 1 year before departure. There was even a case of a passenger flying 10 times a month.

According to the "Goodbye 2024" data compiled by Korean Air on November 17, which analyzed international customer usage indicators from January 1 to November 10 this year, the total number of international passengers on Korean Air during this period was 15.07 million. The total number of visited cities was 110 (based on served cities), and the total flight distance was 280 million kilometers. This distance is nearly equivalent to circling the Earth 7,000 times.

The time when customers most frequently booked airline tickets was identified as Monday at 1 PM. Regarding the departure date, 36% of tickets were purchased 6 months to 1 year in advance, the highest proportion. This was followed by 1 to 3 months prior (25%), 3 to 6 months prior (17%), and 1 week to 1 month prior (16%). Only 7% of tickets were paid for on the day of travel.

The most visited city was Tokyo, Japan. It was the preferred travel destination across all age groups, from people in their 20s and 30s to those in their 60s and 70s. Tokyo was also the top city visited without using annual leave, during weekends and public holidays.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Aviation Information Portal System, the busiest international route at Incheon Airport from January to November this year was the Incheon?Tokyo Narita route, with 4,414,276 passengers. The 2nd and 3rd busiest routes were also Japanese cities: Osaka (Kansai Airport, 4,052,988 passengers) and Fukuoka (3,050,673 passengers).

The person who used Korean Air the most flew a total of 110 times this year, averaging more than 10 flights per month. The highest number of times using mileage tickets (international flight bonuses) was 75. The oldest passenger was 104 years old, and the youngest was 0 years old.
