With this achievement, the county evaluated that the Hometown Love Donation Program has been stably established, receiving continuous interest not only from the local community but also from donors.

According to the county, a total of 2,810 donations have been made so far, amounting to 303.01 million KRW. In 2024 alone, 1,177 donations raised 131.84 million KRW.

Previously, the county actively promoted the Hometown Love Donation Program through cooperation with major local organizations and mutual donations with sister cities. These efforts by Yangpyeong-gun played a significant role in enhancing the value of the region and encouraging more donations. In particular, local specialty products from Yangpyeong, such as Mulmalgeun Yangpyeong rice, Honeybee wine, and pork sets, which are provided as thank-you gifts, have received great responses from donors.

Currently, the county is reviewing new suppliers and product items, and from next year plans to select additional thank-you gifts that reflect local characteristics to offer more diverse options.

Additionally, the county successfully completed the ‘Chueupsan Azalea and Rhododendron Tourism Resource Development Project’ and the ‘Large Fire Extinguisher Distribution Project for Disaster-Vulnerable Areas’ using the established Hometown Love Fund. By planting azaleas and rhododendrons, a foundation for revitalizing local tourism was established, and 230 large fire extinguishers were distributed to further strengthen disaster preparedness capabilities.

Governor Jeon Jin-seon said, “The stable establishment of the Hometown Love Donation Program and reaching 300 million KRW in cumulative donations is thanks to the interest and participation of everyone who loves Yangpyeong,” adding, “We will create a positively changing Yangpyeong through expanding fundraising and high-quality fund projects.”

Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation Program allows residents to donate to local governments other than their registered address, offering income tax deductions and thank-you gifts. Donations can be easily made through the Hometown Love e-um website and nationwide NH Nonghyup Bank branches.
