Kakao Included in the DJSI World Index for Sustainability Assessment for 4 Consecutive Years

Kakao announced on the 17th that it has been included in the '2024 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices World Index (DJSI World Index)' published by S&P Global for the fourth consecutive year.

Since 2021, Kakao has been listed not only on the 'DJSI World Index' but also on the 'DJSI Asia Pacific Index' and the 'DJSI Korea Index.'

DJSI is a global index that comprehensively evaluates corporate sustainability, including ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) factors. The DJSI World Index selects the top 10% of companies in sustainability evaluation among the top 2,500 companies by global market capitalization. The DJSI Asia Pacific Index includes the top 20% of the top 600 companies in the Asia-Pacific region, and the DJSI Korea Index includes the top 30% of the top 200 domestic companies.

Kakao received the highest score in the 'Interactive Media, Services & Home Entertainment' industry group, which includes major online service companies. Kakao's inclusion in this index reflects efforts in various areas such as transparent reporting, materiality assessment, climate change strategy, safety and health, board independence, customer relations, and information protection. Among the companies evaluated in this industry group, Kakao is the only domestic company included in the DJSI World Index.

Kwon Dae-yeol, Chair of Kakao's CA Council ESG Committee, said, "This achievement is meaningful as it recognizes Kakao's efforts for sustainable management at a global level," adding, "We will continue to do our best to strengthen ESG management together with various stakeholders."
