'2024 Gumi Art Fair' for Kids and Adults Opens on the 19th

Gumi City in Gyeongbuk will host the "6th Gumi Art Fair 2024" from the 19th to the 23rd for five days at GumiCO, organized by the Gumi Art Fair Organizing Committee.

The Gumi Art Fair has established itself as a venue that provides local artists with opportunities to showcase their works and allows citizens to experience art trends and discover their tastes. This event will be held under the slogan "Seeing, Enjoying, Collecting" (Bogu, Jeulgigu, Sojanghagu) and will feature a variety of exhibitions and experiential programs.

This year, approximately 1,500 works will be exhibited across a total of 96 exhibition and experience booths. In particular, special corners such as the "Kids Collection," where children can purchase artworks with their pocket money, and the "Happy Collection 300,000 KRW Exhibition," offering affordable pieces for collection, are expected to attract visitors' attention. Additionally, docent tours (artwork explanation programs) will be held four times a day to allow citizens to experience the artists' intentions and perspectives.

Seo Hyun-hee, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, said, "To lower the threshold of art, we have prepared diverse exhibitions and experiences, including docent tours and a corner where children can buy artworks with their pocket money," adding, "We hope families visit and enjoy special moments of art together."

Mayor Kim Jang-ho stated, "The Gumi Art Fair is a valuable opportunity for citizens to broaden their artistic perspectives and for artists to have their works recognized," and added, "We will continue to support Gumi City’s development as a city where art and culture coexist."
