December 17-24 Domohun Held for the First Time to Strengthen Connections Between Regions and Regional Brands
Christmas Market, Local Classes, Special Lectures for Regional Entrepreneurs, and Networking Events Conducted
Busan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency will hold the ‘2024 Busan Youth Local Festa’ for seven days from the 17th to the 24th at Domohon.
This event is being held for the first time to strengthen the connection between regions and regional brands, to highlight the value that local value creators have on the local economy and culture, and to provide Busan citizens and tourists with the opportunity to experience local products and services.
Various programs such as ▲local product promotion and sales booths ▲citizen experience events ▲startup special lectures and networking ▲cultural performances are prepared. In particular, local products reflecting Busan’s identity and creativity will be exhibited and sold, allowing visitors to directly experience and purchase them.
First, at the 'Christmas Market,' where the charm of the local area can be enjoyed in one place, various products made by Busan’s representative local value creators will be exhibited and sold.
Visitors can check and purchase special products available only in Busan, such as ▲Buba (Busan Sea Sand, Busan Sea Caramel, etc.) ▲Rui Korea (Rooibos tea, kombucha, seaweed soap, etc.) ▲Cosmile Corporation (local souvenirs, coffee bean hand soap, etc.) ▲Timing Us & Mugerbon (‘Myeongran Samnamme’ goods, myeongran almonds, etc.) ▲Kkulkkok House & Judeun & Ssangssuci (Gwang-an chestnuts, Maknareun (beer), traditional wine, etc.) directly on site.
The 'Local Class,' a variety of experience events prepared directly by local value creators where visitors can deeply feel the local culture, will be operated.
Programs such as ▲Rooibos tea blending and tasting (Rui Korea) ▲Making coffee grounds decorations (Cosmile Corporation) ▲Traditional liquor tasting (Kkulkkok House) ▲Leather craft experience (Mandeulsoop) are prepared, and anyone can participate through prior registration.
Special lectures and networking sessions sharing the success stories and know-how of successful domestic local entrepreneurs will also be held.
The lectures will feature ▲Park Yong-jun, CEO of Samjin Fish Cake ▲Park Jun-gyu, CEO of Surf Beach ▲Im Miso, CEO of Agricultural Corporation Bat, who will share their local startup challenges and success stories, inspiring citizens preparing for or interested in startups.
There are also various attractions and activities for a special time with family and loved ones during the year-end and New Year holidays.
To create a festive Christmas atmosphere, a large tree and LED landscape lighting have been installed at Domohon, which is also famous as a filming location for ‘The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family.’
Additionally, various events such as a Christmas wish postcard event, experience activities (snowball and candle making), carol performances by local artists (Eohheung, Forever, Groovy), photo shoots with concept costumes rented from local creators (Weave Busan & Grida Couple), and T-shirt making (Manmanhan Nyeoseokdeul) are prepared.
During the event period, ‘Domohon Deullak Nallak’ will also host various Christmas family experience events such as ▲Christmas pipe cleaner and wreath making ▲doll making.
Kim Gwi-ok, Director of the Youth Industry-Academia Division of Busan City, said, “We planned this event with Busan’s local creators to provide citizens with happy memories at the end of the year,” adding, “We will continue to focus on fostering local creators who can lead the local economy by connecting local brands with business potential to citizens.”
