A star who appeared on a popular American reality show shocked the public by revealing a photo of her bumpy face and claiming that her face was damaged due to parasites.
According to People magazine in the U.S. on the 14th (local time), Brandi Glanville (52), who gained popularity by appearing on NBC's reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, recently posted on her social media, "Parasites are moving on my face," along with a photo showing her bumpy facial condition.
After the symptoms appeared, Glanville said she visited multiple hospitals trying to find the cause, spending over $70,000 (about 100 million KRW), but was unable to identify the exact cause. She added, "Some doctors say there are parasites moving around my face. Others say it is swelling caused by stress." The symptoms reportedly have continued since last October when her face swelled so much that she fainted and was taken to the hospital.
Glanville’s photo became a hot topic in the U.S., and subsequently, a doctor refuted her claims. Plastic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow stated that the abnormalities on Glanville’s skin were not caused by parasites or the food she ate, but rather "an infection or foreign body reaction that occurred during the process of receiving fillers."
He described Glanville’s facial condition as a "time bomb" and advised that "surgical intervention is needed as soon as possible." He added, "Microorganisms remaining in the skin can cause potential damage leading to more serious harm. Over time, treatment becomes more difficult, and more scars and nodules may develop."
Later, Glanville shared on her social media that she had been in contact with Dr. Dubrow and had all the fillers removed from her face for treatment. Recently, she posted a photo of her improved face on social media, stating, "Thanks to meeting the best doctors, I dissolved all the facial fillers," and added, "I plan to continue communicating with the doctors. Thank you all for your concern."
Glanville is an American actress and model who, after appearing on the reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which showcases the lives of upper-class women, has become an influencer with 670,000 followers.
