Report Meeting on Progress of Life-Oriented Projects and Citizens' Suggestions

Hong Nampyo, Changwon Special Mayor, Urges "Definite Changes in Daily Life That Citizens Can Feel"

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a "Status Check Meeting on the Promotion of Life-Closely Related Projects and Citizens' Suggestions" on the 16th at the city hall's administrative meeting room to focus on various projects aimed at reducing citizens' daily inconveniences and increasing convenience.

Earlier, Mayor Hong Nampyo emphasized the importance of the district mayor's role while discovering life-closely related projects since the first half of this year, and after several reporting meetings, allocated related project funds in the supplementary budget and next year's budget.


Among the 323 life-closely related projects discussed at the meeting, ▲ 85 projects such as the creation of a barefoot walking trail in Buk-myeon Gamgye 2nd Neighborhood Park and maintenance of the old deck at Samho Stream are "already underway or to be completed within this year," ▲ 208 projects such as the construction of a park golf course in Samjeongja Park and the Jinhae Library and Cultural Center are "to be completed next year," and ▲ 30 projects requiring schedule adjustments due to administrative procedures and financial burdens are "to be completed after 2026." These are currently being handled by each responsible department under the district mayor's supervision.


Additionally, the progress of suggestions made during dialogues with citizens?33 in Uichang-gu, 30 in Seongsan-gu, 36 in Masanhappo-gu, 36 in Masanhoewon-gu, and 41 in Jinhae-gu?was reviewed.


In particular, Mayor Hong instructed continuous review to find alternative measures for the 55 suggestions requiring long-term consideration, such as proposals for countermeasures against the expected increase in traffic volume on Bukseong-ro, to see if any can be handled promptly.


Mayor Hong said, "Please actively strive to promote life-closely related projects so that the inconveniences citizens feel in their daily lives can be resolved as soon as possible," and added, "The suggestions that came up during dialogues with citizens are also closely related to daily life. The city hall and district offices should cooperate closely to handle them as quickly as possible and ensure that citizens are informed of the results."
