Approximately 530 Social Welfare Facilities in the District Included in Exemption 대상
On the 16th, the ‘Partial Amendment to the Pocheon City Water Supply Ordinance’ and the ‘Partial Amendment to the Pocheon City Sewerage Usage Ordinance,’ both proposed by Councilor Jo Jin-sook of the Pocheon City Council, passed the review at the 3rd plenary session of the 183rd regular meeting of the Pocheon City Council.
The amendment proposed by Councilor Jo Jin-sook includes ‘social welfare facilities’ (such as child, disabled, and elderly welfare facilities) in the scope of water and sewerage fee reductions, considering the special nature of social welfare facilities that care for citizens' basic lives on the front lines of welfare, in addition to the existing beneficiaries such as vulnerable groups and multi-child families.
This ordinance is scheduled to take effect from the date of its promulgation, and approximately 530 social welfare facilities within the jurisdiction will be eligible. Benefits can be received by applying to the relevant departments.
Councilor Jo Jin-sook stated, “Since various welfare facilities are jointly fulfilling the obligations of social security and welfare promotion that the state and local governments must perform, the need for financial support is high,” and added, “I believe that appropriate support from the city will ultimately have a positive effect by returning benefits to vulnerable groups receiving assistance from these facilities.”
She continued, “I will continue to do my best to propose highly effective ordinances through thorough review in the future.”
