Lee Jun-seok: "I highly appreciate Han Dong-hoon's efforts... If he continues in politics, we might meet"

Lee Jun-seok Shares Reflections on Former Representative Han's Resignation via SNS

Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, expressed mixed feelings on the 16th upon seeing Han Dong-hoon, former leader of the People Power Party, resign from his position. Lee hinted at a subtle nuance by mentioning the possibility of meeting Han in the future.

On the same day, through social media (SNS), Lee said, "Watching former leader Han's resignation gives me a sense of d?j? vu," adding, "Although our methods were different, I highly appreciate his efforts to address problems with a similar awareness of the issues." This suggests that both Lee and Han aimed for a conservatism within the People Power Party that is not swayed by far-right or conservative YouTubers.

However, Lee also said, "I thought the problem was unsolvable, so I embarked on a new challenge, but if former leader Han continues to have political ambitions and pursues that path, I think we might meet someday." This is interpreted as a suggestion that the conservative camp could reconcile depending on changes in the political situation.

He continued, "All the evaluations and advice I have given to former leader Han so far were made sincerely," and added, "Having experienced similar situations, I hoped he would not go through the same." Although he has made critical remarks about Han and others, he explained that his advice was based on what he felt while serving as the leader of the People Power Party.

At the end of his SNS post, Lee said, "I deeply sympathize with former leader Han's final words wishing for the success of the Republic of Korea."

Earlier, following the passage of the impeachment motion against President Yoon in the plenary session and the collective resignation of the Supreme Council members, which made it impossible to maintain the Supreme Council, former leader Han stepped down from his position as party leader that morning. Regarding the passage of the impeachment motion, Han said, "It is truly painful when I think of my supporters, but I still do not regret it," and left the party leader's office saying, "I hope the country does well."
