[Impeachment of Yoon Passed] Gwangju Buk-gu Council: "Victory for Citizens and Democracy"

The Gwangju Buk-gu Council evaluated the passage of the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol as a "victory for the citizens and democracy."

On the 16th, the Buk-gu Council stated in a press release, "This passage is the inevitable outcome of 'anti-democratic and unconstitutional actions.'

They added, "Democracy that has collapsed must be restored, and Yoon Seok-yeol's illegalities should be properly judged by the Constitutional Court, which we must watch over with vigilant eyes of democracy."

They also said, "During this very difficult time of domestic and international economic conditions, the Buk-gu Council members will take the lead in overcoming these challenges."

On the 13th, after holding a press conference urging members of the People Power Party to participate in the vote for the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol, the members of Gwangju Buk-gu Council shouted slogans such as "Immediately arrest and impeach Yoon Seok-yeol, the mastermind of the December 3rd rebellion" and "Those who go against the will of the people, dissolution is the only answer.
