The Jeonnam Mayors and County Governors Council (Chairman Kim Seong, Jangheung County Governor) issued a statement on the 16th welcoming the passage of the impeachment motion against Yoon Seok-yeol.
In the statement, the council said, "Yoon Seok-yeol is the ringleader of a rebellion and must be investigated swiftly and thoroughly," and urged, "Investigative agencies should immediately arrest, detain, and investigate Yoon Seok-yeol."

The council emphasized, "In particular, Yoon Seok-yeol continues to make claims even after the emergency martial law was lifted, causing confusion," and added, "False incitement and acts that deceive the public are unacceptable, and strict punishment is necessary."
They continued, "This impeachment is an important decision to protect democracy," and stated, "The Constitutional Court must fulfill its role to prevent national chaos and realize the people's aspirations."
The council also declared, "All possible resources must be utilized to prepare measures for stabilizing livelihoods so that political and economic uncertainties do not lead to difficulties in the local economy," and pledged, "Above all, we will strive to restore order in the Republic of Korea according to the will of the people and do our best to protect democracy and constitutional values."
