Yangsan-si Receives Minister of Strategy and Finance Award for Statistical Work This Year

Yangsan City in Gyeongnam has been awarded the Minister of Strategy and Finance Commendation in the 2024 Statistical Work Promotion Merit (Statistical Survey Division) hosted by Statistics Korea.

This award is given to institutions that have successfully conducted large-scale economic statistical surveys such as the 2024 National Business Survey and the Mining and Manufacturing Survey, recognizing institutions that have contributed to the development of national statistics.

In particular, Yangsan was recognized for its contribution to the development of regional statistics, notably by utilizing telecommunications company floating population data and credit card company consumption data statistics for festivals and events, which were reflected in municipal policies and contributed to the award.

Yangsan has been evaluated for systematically establishing plans suited to local conditions to ensure the smooth execution of various statistical surveys, hiring excellent survey personnel and providing specialized training, and actively utilizing diverse promotional methods to faithfully produce statistical data that serve as the foundation for policies and research.

Due to these efforts, Yangsan provides essential statistical data that are indispensable for research and policy formulation.

Notably, the completion of statistical surveys without a single safety accident is remarkable. Thorough survey management and maintaining a safe working environment were major advantages contributing to this award.
