Global career experience theme park KidZania Busan and global content company Trinoid have renewed and reopened the ‘Game Development Center.’
The ‘Game Development Center,’ which opened in 2021, is a popular career experience facility at KidZania Busan, with approximately 122,000 children having participated so far.
At the renewed ‘Game Development Center,’ children can develop games based on the animation ‘Please! Pocota Village Chief,’ currently airing on KBS 1TV. ‘Please! Pocota Village Chief’ depicts warm stories among various employees and neighbors, including the ‘Positive King’ Village Chief Pocota, the ‘Timid New Employee’ Coco, as well as Peng and Obis, set in the small rural town of Saeip Village.
Here, children become game developers and create their own mobile block puzzle games. They design the Pocota Village Chief character using blocks, program various actions that connect the blocks, decorate the app with backgrounds and UI layouts, and complete the game. The completed game is provided via a QR code, allowing families to enjoy it together at home.
Additionally, children receive a Game Developer Master Certificate and Kizo, and upon revisiting, they are given a ‘Please! Pocota Village Chief’ photo card to help them feel a sense of achievement.
To celebrate the reopening, KidZania Busan will hold an initial consonant quiz event through its official Instagram account. A ‘Please! Pocota Village Chief’ coloring event will also take place at the 5th-floor central plaza, and an event will be held where participants who upload a certification photo after experiencing the ‘Game Development Center’ on their personal SNS can win prizes through a draw.
A representative from KidZania Busan said, “We are delighted to meet children anew through the major renewal of the ‘Game Development Center’ after three years,” adding, “We are confident that it is the only career experience center where children can professionally experience the entire process of actual game development, including planning, design, and programming.”
