A woman who won the lottery earlier this year tragically died after being hit by a car just days before Christmas.

The police arrested the driver of the vehicle, identified as Ms. A. She is a 31-year-old woman who was detained on suspicion of driving abnormally under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Essex Police issued a statement saying, "We received a report of a collision between a vehicle and two pedestrians at the intersection of Hamlet Court Road and St Johns Road," adding, "A 52-year-old woman and her 23-year-old daughter were transported to the hospital, but despite medical efforts, the 52-year-old woman passed away." They continued, "The 31-year-old female driver was arrested at the scene and is currently under investigation."
