Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju has been selected as an excellent local government in the basic livelihood security sector for two consecutive years.

On the 16th, Gwangsan-gu announced that it was selected as an excellent local government in the basic livelihood security sector evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and received a commendation from the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The evaluation, conducted on 229 local governments nationwide, comprehensively assessed efforts such as discovering new basic livelihood security recipients and eliminating blind spots, activating the operation of local livelihood security committees, budget execution performance for welfare projects, and cooperation efforts.

The district received high evaluations for operating a visiting welfare counseling office to proactively discover welfare recipients, operating the livelihood security committee to protect vulnerable groups and residents' rights, and providing training to strengthen the capabilities of integrated counseling staff.

Park Byung-gyu, the district mayor, said, "I am pleased and grateful to receive this great award as a result of our efforts to stabilize residents' lives and protect the rights of basic livelihood security recipients for two consecutive years.
