According to the city on the 16th, the city carried out sidewalk expansion work at Hogukbohun Park for a month last November. To provide citizens with a more pleasant and convenient walking environment, the effective width of the sidewalk was expanded from the existing 1.5m to 3.5m.

In addition, slope maintenance work was carried out on sidewalks around Milmok Intersection and Gyeonghwa Girls' High School to prevent slipping during winter, allowing citizens to move safely and conveniently.

Local residents responded positively, saying, "The sidewalks have become wider and the environment has improved, making it easier to walk with children."

Besides this construction, Gwangju City is also promoting sidewalk expansion work around Songjeonggyo Bridge to prevent accidents between bus stop users and pedestrians.

Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, "We expect pedestrian safety to be greatly improved through this construction," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to create an environment where citizens can walk safely and use the facilities comfortably."
