"Prepare for the Presidential Election with a Desperate Mindset"
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, proposed a 'National Stability Consultative Body' involving both the National Assembly and the government to stabilize state affairs. Former People Power Party lawmaker Kim Woong criticized this, calling it a "threat to the public to hand over power to him."
On the 15th, Kim posted on his Facebook, saying, "Lee Jae-myung proposed the 'National Stability Consultative Body' and stated that he would not impeach Prime Minister Han Duck-soo."
He pointed out, "The National Stability Consultative Body will effectively become Lee Jae-myung's National Security Emergency Committee (Gukgabowi Bisangdaechaeg Wiwonhoe)." He added, "He says he will generously not impeach Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, but this is merely a trick to expedite the impeachment trial." He continued, "The Democratic Party impeached President Yoon Seok-youl on charges of treason. The Democratic Party has already filed a complaint against Prime Minister Han Duck-soo for treason. Then naturally, the Democratic Party should also impeach Prime Minister Han Duck-soo. Impeaching some for treason and not others is self-contradictory."
Kim argued, "Lee Jae-myung's refusal to impeach Prime Minister Han Duck-soo is to quickly appoint constitutional court justices and hasten the impeachment trial." He claimed, "Just by looking at this self-contradiction, it is clear that Lee Jae-myung's Democratic Party is a greedy group pursuing only power and interests."
He also said, "Now Lee Jae-myung's presidential act has begun. Lee Jae-myung is the person who even confined his own older brother in a psychiatric hospital." He added, "Moon Jae-in conducted political revenge through investigations of deep-rooted evils. Lee Jae-myung will do more. He will release Cho Kuk but will go beyond revenge to massacre the opposition. We must prepare for the presidential election with a desperate mindset."
Meanwhile, on the 16th, Lee Jae-myung asked for the participation of the People Power Party regarding the National Stability Consultative Body he proposed during the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly.
He said, "If forming a consultative body covering the entire state affairs is burdensome, I request the People Power Party to at least form a consultative body limited to the economy and livelihood sectors." He continued, "I understand the difficult internal circumstances of the People Power Party and their politically awkward position, but isn't the reason for a political party's existence ultimately the better life of the people?" He repeatedly urged, "Please put calculations aside for a moment and make a swift decision to join either the National Stability Consultative Body or a consultative body limited to economic issues."
