Recognized for Efforts to Restore the People's Livelihood Economy
Mokpo City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 16th that it received the top prize for two consecutive years along with a prize money of 13.5 million KRW at the ‘Regional Economic Revitalization Evaluation’ hosted by Jeollanam-do, held at the Jeollanam-do Eastern Government Complex on the 13th.
Jeollanam-do evaluated 22 cities and counties this year based on their contribution to regional economic revitalization through discovering and spreading excellent economic policies.

The evaluation was conducted across 13 indicators in 4 categories, including the operation performance of reasonably priced businesses, operation of price monitoring teams, efforts to eradicate overcharging, price stabilization measures, activation of public and win-win delivery apps, sales performance of local love gift certificates, revitalization of traditional markets, and excellent cases of social economy activation.
In this evaluation, the city was recognized for its best efforts in its duties to revitalize the local economy for the working-class economy.
Mayor Park Hong-ryul said, “Reviving the local economy is not an easy task, but just as a small spark can start a big fire, we will prepare strategic plans tailored to the characteristics of commercial districts and implement support measures for small business owners without any leakage.”
