The Public Procurement Service has been selected as a leading institution for nurturing data analysis talent.
On the 16th, the Public Procurement Service announced that it received the certification plaque as a ‘Leading Institution for Nurturing Data Analysis Talent’ and professional talent certificates at the data analysis professional talent certification ceremony hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Public Procurement Service is focusing on enhancing internal expert capabilities with the goal of advancing data-driven administration, while expanding ▲big data analysis ▲artificial intelligence (AI) utilization ▲and strengthening data and AI competencies.
This year, it systematically verified policy effects by applying AI modeling and data analysis techniques across various fields, promoting scientific procurement policies. Representative cases include the analysis of construction order concentration in the Korea ON-line E-Procurement System (KONEPS), analysis of public interest for improving civil service, and policy effect analysis of the innovative product designation system.
Through these efforts, the Public Procurement Service was recognized for its achievements, receiving the highest grade for two consecutive years in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s ‘Data-Driven Administration Evaluation.’
Lee Hyung-sik, Director of the Fair Procurement Bureau, stated, “Artificial intelligence and big data are essential tools for realizing a digital platform government, and their active utilization is important,” adding, “The Public Procurement Service will continue to strive to implement data-driven scientific administration for service innovation centered on companies and the market.”
Meanwhile, Yang Jeong-ho, an officer of the Electronic Procurement Planning Division, participated in the data analysis professional talent training course, received expert certification and a ministerial award, and emerged as a key leader to lead data-driven administration.
The data analysis professional talent training course is operated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to cultivate experts capable of solving practical policy issues based on advanced data analysis technologies.
