Five KIC employees who participated in the volunteer activities supported local medical staff from the Open Medical Society in dentistry, Korean medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, and anesthesiology and pain medicine. They visited a local elementary school to teach children oral health care methods and also provided dental hygiene supplies. Additionally, KIC donated funds necessary for building new medical and health facilities in this area, which lacks medical infrastructure.
Park Il-young, President of KIC, said, “We deeply appreciate that our employees voluntarily participated in overseas volunteer work beyond the corporation’s sponsorship activities,” adding, “We hope that through medical support volunteer activities, children will grow up healthy and live safely.”
Since 2012, KIC employees have been conducting medical volunteer activities every quarter in cooperation with the Open Medical Society for vulnerable groups and foreign workers in Korea. Overseas medical volunteer activities began in 2019 and this year marks the third time. KIC is committed to global social contribution through regular sponsorship of overseas children, support for international development cooperation projects, donations of emergency relief supplies abroad, and local volunteer activities by overseas branch employees.
