The distribution company NEW announced on the 16th that the 40th anniversary theatrical animation of the popular comic 'Run, Hani' titled 'Bad Girl: Run, Hani' (directed by Heo Jeong-su) will be released in 2025.
'Run, Hani' was serialized in the comic magazine 'Treasure Island' from the January 1985 issue to the June 1987 issue in 30 episodes, and in 1988, it was aired as a TV animation on KBS, gaining popularity.
The animation depicts Hani, who lost her mother and lives alone in a rooftop apartment, meeting teacher Hong Duk-gae upon entering middle school and nurturing her dream as a track and field athlete. It portrays her longing for her parents and competitive spirit towards her rival Na Ae-ri. However, in the theatrical version, Hani and Na Ae-ri are the main characters. The story unfolds as they become high school students, focusing on the fiercely determined Na Ae-ri and Hani's comeback after injury.
