The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) conducted a satisfaction survey targeting parents participating in the second semester Neulbom School, revealing that 93.1% of respondents were satisfied.
This figure represents a 9.7 percentage point increase from the first semester satisfaction rate of 83.4% and is 13.1 percentage points higher than the Ministry of Education's survey results.
In particular, the basic Neulbom School programs, Dodam Dodam and Morning Neulbom, showed high satisfaction rates of 91.2% and 90.1%, respectively. Children in the Ulsan area showed the greatest interest in physical activities, followed by cultural and artistic activities, and creative science activities.
90.8% of parents responded that Neulbom School helped reduce the burden of childcare, and 87.1% said it helped with school adaptation. Additionally, 95.6% of parents stated they would continue to participate in Neulbom School in the future.
The satisfaction survey was conducted from November 29 to December 8, with 608 parents of first-grade students participating in Neulbom School.
Next year, Ulsan's Neulbom School will operate Dodam Dodam (a free 2-hour program for 1st and 2nd graders), elective educational programs (existing after-school programs), elective care programs (existing elementary care classrooms), and morning and evening Neulbom sessions based on demand.
An official from the Ulsan Office of Education said, “As a result of efforts to support schools in space construction, program composition, and staffing following the full introduction of Neulbom School, parent satisfaction has been high. We will continue to do our best to support schools so that high-quality Neulbom School programs can be sustained.”
