Jongno-gu Expands and Operates Sungin Public Parking Lot... 87 to 119 Spaces

Completion of Three Sites Including Samcheongje 1 Public Parking Lot Next Year

Jongno-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Munheon) will expand the Sungin Public Parking Lot from the existing 87 spaces to 119 spaces starting from the 16th of this month.

The parking fee for resident-priority parking lots (95 spaces) is 60,000 KRW per day, and 30,000 KRW for day and night use only. The hourly parking lot (24 spaces) charges 300 KRW per 5 minutes, with a monthly fee of 180,000 KRW for daytime and 60,000 KRW for nighttime.

The Jongno-gu Facilities Management Corporation has been entrusted with the operation, and next month, electric vehicle chargers will be installed for electric vehicle drivers.

Meanwhile, Jongno-gu plans to build three new public parking lots next year to improve the residential environment: Samcheong 1 Public Parking Lot, Okindong Public Parking Lot, and Changsin Sodam Public Parking Lot. Among these, Changsin Sodam and Okindong public parking lots will be developed as complex facilities including cultural and sports facilities. The Buam-dong public parking lot and resident complex facility, scheduled to begin construction in 2026, will start design services next year.

District Mayor Jeong Munheon stated, “We will focus on creating parking spaces to improve residents’ quality of life and provide convenience for tourists.”
