After Defense Companies Leonardo and General Dynamics
Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 16th that it plans to appoint Michael Coulter, former President of Leonardo DRS Global Corporation and a former U.S. Department of Defense official, as the Chief Executive Officer in charge of overseas business to strengthen its global defense capabilities.

Coulter, who majored in Political Science at the University of Maryland, led the business as President and Senior Vice President of Business Development at the global defense company Leonardo DRS. Prior to that, he oversaw global business development at General Dynamics.
Before joining the corporate sector, he held key government positions including Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, Acting Under Secretary of Defense, and Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs. He also served in the Navy at NATO and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Coulter will oversee Hanwha Group’s global defense business, including Hanwha Aerospace. He expressed his commitment, stating, "Based on my experience and capabilities accumulated in the global defense industry, I will dedicate myself to Hanwha Defense’s vision of protecting the free world through global security solutions."
A Hanwha Aerospace official said, "With the appointment of CEO Coulter, we will provide integrated land, sea, and air solutions centered on key global markets such as the United States and grow into a world-class global defense company."
