Matteung Kim Opens Global Stores in Taiwan and Hong Kong... "Expanding to 27 Locations Within 5 Years"

Domestic designer brand ‘Matin Kim’ announced on the 16th that it will launch global stores in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.


Matin Kim, one of the brands in Hagohouse’s portfolio, officially began targeting overseas markets by opening its first global store in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, at the end of October. The Causeway Bay store recorded sales of approximately 800 million KRW within the first month of opening.

Matin Kim is accelerating its global expansion by sequentially opening new stores. On the 27th of last month, it opened a store of about 30 pyeong in the complex cultural space ‘Singpum Bookstore’ located in the heart of Taipei, Taiwan. On the 29th of the same month, it also launched a large standalone store at ‘Harbour City Ocean Terminal,’ a popular shopping destination in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. Within two weeks of opening, the Singpum Bookstore location in Taiwan recorded sales of 350 million KRW, and the Harbour City store in Hong Kong achieved sales of 200 million KRW.


On the 6th, an accessory-only store was opened inside ‘Londoner Macau,’ and on the 12th, a store of about 40 pyeong was launched in the central plaza of ‘The Venetian Macau.’ The Venetian Macau, where Matin Kim’s store is located, is a premium shopping mall with high foot traffic and excellent accessibility, making it an ideal place to expand connections with global customers from Asia, Europe, the United States, and local consumers.


The new global stores will showcase a variety of products including new items for the fall and winter season, main lines, and the high-end line ‘Kim Martin.’ Exclusive color products available only locally will also be unveiled.


A representative from Hagohouse stated, “Along with expanding global stores, Matin Kim is focusing on strengthening overseas recognition by running an advertising campaign on 133 Korean Air planes flying to 103 cities in 34 countries. We plan to open a standalone and flagship store in Tokyo, Japan, in the first half of next year, and within the next five years, we will introduce 27 global stores to accelerate the expansion of our overseas offline business.”
