Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) Health Center announced that it was selected as the best institution in the "2024 National Mind Investment Support Project Autonomous District Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.
This evaluation was conducted targeting 229 local governments nationwide and was based on the operation performance and achievements of community mental health projects.
The main evaluation items included ▲service application rate ▲participation rate of low-income groups ▲number of registrations of providing institutions and personnel ▲budget execution rate ▲service utilization rate, and the district health center recorded excellent results in all evaluation items, being selected as the "best institution" and securing an incentive of 10 million won.
This award is the result of the district health center actively operating the "National Mind Investment Support Project," which provides psychological counseling services to all citizens experiencing emotional difficulties such as depression and anxiety. The district health center maximized the advantages of this project, which anyone can apply for regardless of age or income, actively discovering eligible participants and providing professional psychological counseling services eight times, demonstrating systematic management and support.
In particular, the district health center received favorable evaluations for its efforts to increase participation rates among low-income and vulnerable groups, actively secure personnel and institutions providing psychological counseling services, and make multifaceted efforts to protect the mental health of residents.
Meanwhile, the district is also showing outstanding performance in overall mental health projects. The district Mental Health Welfare Center received an excellent (A grade) nationwide and the best (S grade) in the Seoul city evaluation in the "2024 Basic and Addiction Center Operation Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, recognizing its systematic and professional operational capabilities.
The award ceremony was held on December 12 at the Diamond Hall on the 2nd floor of the Koreana Hotel in Seoul. Based on this achievement, the district plans to raise awareness of the importance of mental health management throughout the community and strengthen a sustainable support system to establish itself as a leading local government protecting the mental health of its residents.
