"Please ensure the cabinet manages state affairs steadily under the Acting Authority"

On the 15th, Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, paid a courtesy visit to Han Deok-su, Acting President and Prime Minister, requesting the prompt resumption of party-government consultations and stable management of the political situation.

During a visit to Acting President Han's office from 6 p.m. for about 30 minutes, Kwon said, "We will spare no support and cooperation at the party level to manage the serious political situation stably," according to Park Soo-min, the party floor spokesperson, who briefed the National Assembly.

Kwon stated, "Above all, I ask the cabinet, centered on the Acting President, to manage state affairs without wavering," and added, "I hope that high-level and working-level party-government consultations will resume as soon as the party is stabilized."

Acting President Han agreed to the prompt resumption of party-government consultations and responded that he is "making various efforts" regarding smooth cabinet operations and political stability, Park said.

Regarding the question of whether they discussed the veto exercise on 'First Lady Kim Geon-hee and the special investigation on internal rebellion,' Park said, "It was not a meeting to discuss specific matters," and added, "We requested high-level and working-level party-government consultations as soon as the party is stabilized, and I think they will probably discuss it through official channels."

There was no discussion about the 'National Stability Consultative Body' involving both ruling and opposition parties and the government, proposed by Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, on the same day.

Park added, "Given the serious situation, we agreed to meet frequently outside of official party-government consultations to work for political stability."
