The police investigated employees of the Security Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and the Security Bureau of the National Police Agency, who were in the command line controlling access to the National Assembly in connection with the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law' incident, as witnesses.
On the 15th, the Special Investigation Unit of the National Police Agency summoned and questioned the head of the Security and Safety Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and the head of the Security and Safety Division of the National Police Agency.
The head of the Security and Safety Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency gave instructions around 11:31 p.m. on the 3rd to check whether military personnel related to martial law had arrived and, if so, to verify their identities before allowing access. About 20 minutes later, he ordered the Yeongdeungpo Police Chief and the head of the Security Division, saying, “If personnel related to the Capital Defense Command, such as the anti-terror special task force, arrive, allow them immediate access,” and “Do not use the main gates 1 and 2; have them enter through other gates.”
Earlier, Police Commissioner General Jo Ji-ho and Seoul Metropolitan Police Chief Kim Bong-sik were arrested on the 13th on charges of engaging in important duties related to rebellion under the Criminal Act.
