Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on the 12th, it held the ‘12th On-site Mayor’s Day Visiting the Community,’ an event where vulnerable groups, volunteers, and sponsors came together.

This event, under the theme ‘Byeolcheonji Market & Show,’ was co-hosted by the ‘Geumcheon-gu Food Bank Market Center’ and the local volunteer group ‘Gibalan Utopia’ in connection with social contribution activities.

The event was designed as an opportunity for volunteers and sponsors to meet directly with neighbors in need and to share the challenges and suggestions of volunteers on the ground.

At the meeting, Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu listened to the volunteers’ reflections on their volunteer work throughout the year and the difficulties they faced in the field. He also shared opinions for residents in welfare blind spots and discussed the direction of volunteer work for the coming year.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, “Although the district is steadily strengthening various customized welfare networks, there are still many residents in welfare blind spots,” adding, “We will review the valuable opinions of volunteers who directly encounter neighbors in need on the ground and reflect them in future district policies.”

At the Sunken Plaza on the basement first floor of Geumcheon-gu Office, the ‘Byeolcheonji Market’ was held. Free exchange vouchers were distributed to about 200 vulnerable households and local children’s centers, allowing them to directly select donated items such as daily necessities, food, and clothing.

Additionally, at the Geumnarae Art Hall, volunteers and sponsors dedicated to their neighbors participated in a fashion show alongside middle-aged models, marking the end of the year.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, “The dedication of volunteers brings warmth to the local community and contributes to creating a better world,” and added, “I am honored to participate in an event where volunteers and sponsors come together during economically difficult times.”
