Yoon Suspends Presidential Powers from 7:24 PM... As a copy of the National Assembly's impeachment resolution was delivered to the Presidential Office, President Yoon Seok-yeol's exercise of authority was suspended from 7:24 PM on the 14th.


Kim Min-ki, Secretary General of the National Assembly, and other officials from the National Assembly Secretariat arrived at the Yongsan Presidential Office with the impeachment resolution at around 6:16 PM that day.


They waited for about an hour near the Ministry of National Defense's west gate information desk before visiting the main building of the Presidential Office and delivering the impeachment resolution, issued in the name of National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik, to Yoon Jae-soon, Secretary General for General Affairs.


Accordingly, President Yoon is unable to exercise constitutional presidential powers such as ▲ Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces ▲ Treaty conclusion and ratification authority ▲ Powers of pardon, commutation, and reinstatement ▲ Veto power over bills ▲ Proposal and promulgation of constitutional amendments ▲ Promulgation of amended laws ▲ Budget submission authority ▲ Administrative legislative authority ▲ Appointment and dismissal of public officials.
