Children from Taean, Chungnam achieved meaningful results by participating in a disaster safety quiz competition organized by Chungnam Province.


The Taean County Office announced that at the "2024 Disaster Safety Golden Bell" event held at the Yun Bonggil Gymnasium in Yesan County on the 12th, Hyun Junseo, a 6th-grade student from Baekhwa Elementary School, received the Excellence Award, and a total of 20 elementary students from Taean who participated in the competition achieved good results overall.


The "Disaster Safety Golden Bell" event was designed to help local children easily learn essential safety knowledge for daily life. About 300 elementary students from 15 local governments in the province, including Taean County, participated and competed by solving safety-related questions.

Previously, on the 22nd of last month, the county held the "2024 Taean County Children's Safety Golden Bell Quiz Competition" at Baekhwa Elementary School, with 176 local elementary students participating, and selected 20 students to represent Taean at the provincial competition.


Meanwhile, in March, the county conducted a total of three safety education sessions for 196 people, including daycare center and child welfare facility staff. From April to June, the county also carried out the "Safety Vulnerable Facility Pre-inspection and Safety Transformation" for 190 major facilities in the area, making significant efforts for the safety of local children and residents, which has been well received.


A county official stated, "Throughout this year, we have made continuous efforts with related organizations to create a Taean County free of safety accidents," and added, "We will actively implement on-site and prevention-centered policies next year so that all residents, including children, can enjoy a safe and pleasant life."
