Seosan City in Chungnam has been selected as an excellent institution for the second consecutive year, receiving an excellent grade in the '2024 Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill' evaluation organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

According to the city, the Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill is a joint training exercise conducted by disaster management agencies, emergency support organizations, and related institutions to protect the lives and property of citizens from various large-scale disasters.

Seosan City successfully carried out the Ready Korea Drill, which was expanded and strengthened compared to the previous Safe Korea Drill, earning the honor of being selected as an excellent institution this year.

The Ready Korea Drill is a training exercise that assumes actual disaster situations and focuses on checking on-site response capabilities for new and complex disasters.

The city participated in the Ready Korea Drill last March, which was held at Hanwha TotalEnergies in Daesan-eup, with over 400 participants from 35 organizations including the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and Chungnam Province.

In this evaluation, the city was highly praised for comprehensively inspecting the preparedness and response posture of various organizations, and for strengthening its response capabilities by performing all processes from initial response to recovery as if in a real situation.

Mayor Lee Wan-seop stated, "This selection is the result of our full efforts in the previous drill, focusing solely on the safety of our citizens and continuously strengthening our practical disaster response capabilities," and added, "We will continue to establish a proactive and thorough disaster preparedness system to protect the lives and property of our citizens."
