Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, stated on the 14th, "We cannot entrust the Republic of Korea to a traitor of the nation even for a moment."
On the same day, Governor Kim met with reporters in front of the National Assembly in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and said, "After passing through the dark night and cold winter, I believe dawn and spring will come soon." He also emphasized, "The National Assembly must definitely pass the impeachment motion," and added, "For a new Republic of Korea, all citizens must unite and move forward."
Governor Kim stated, "The December 3 emergency martial law situation has caused the already difficult Korean economy to face even greater hardships," and argued, "To overcome the current economic difficulties, political uncertainty must be eliminated." Furthermore, he said, "If the president's duties are suspended, economic agents in our country should come together and focus on reviving the struggling economy," and added, "We must gather wisdom to overcome the backward steps of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and the challenges of the international economy."
