Police Officers Association: "Jo Jiho has degraded the entire police force into a 'regime tool'"

"Corrupt Power Structure Must Be Dismantled"

The National Police Workplace Council (Gyeongchal Jikhoe) stated on the 14th that the arrest of Police Commissioner Jo Ji-ho, who was deeply involved in the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law Incident,' will be remembered as a day that turned the entire police organization into a tool of the regime and shook the public's trust to its core.

On the same day, the Police Workplace Council held an emergency press conference at the Police Agency and said, "We strongly demand that the truth of this incident be fully uncovered and that all those responsible be brought to justice."

The Police Workplace Council criticized, "The Police Commissioner abandoned his responsibilities and ethics as the head of the police. He abused his power to oppress his colleagues and used the organization's resources to satisfy his own desires," adding, "He himself undermined the independence of the police, betrayed the values of the police for the people, and committed a treasonous crime of rebellion."

The Police Workplace Council emphasized, "If the corrupt power structure and culture of evading responsibility are not eradicated, a second Jo Ji-ho could appear at any time," and called for a thorough investigation of all those involved in the rebellion. "This must be the first step in revealing the truth to the public and restoring trust in the police organization."
