3 PM on the 14th at Domoheon, New Media Members and Citizens Meeting
Busan City will hold the year-end event "'Goodbye 2024, Looking Forward to 2025' It's Really Great Together" at Domohon at 3 p.m. on the 14th.
This event is designed as a warm gathering to reflect on the past year of 2024 and prepare for the upcoming 2025, while embracing the meaning of 'Domohon,' a space for citizens, sharing thoughts and feelings over warm coffee.
The event consists of two parts. First, Part 1 is the '2024 New Media Members Closing Ceremony,' which includes congratulatory speeches, watching a video summarizing the achievements and reflections of 2024 activities, and awarding outstanding members.
This year, a total of 90 New Media Members actively participated, covering major issues in Busan by reporting on policies, culture, and international events they personally experienced, producing over 1,500 pieces of content and achieving 450 entries in Naver's TOP 10 rankings.
In particular, the activities of foreign members received great attention. Fatima, a foreign member from El Salvador, cited the 'Hanbok Culture Experience' content she created with her child during last Chuseok as her greatest achievement. Having given birth and raised her child in Busan five years ago, she discovered the New Media Members activities by chance. Her 'Hanbok Culture Experience' content recorded 800,000 views on the city’s official Instagram, promoting Busan’s culture to the world.
The city plans to award certificates of activity to all 90 members and mayoral commendations to three outstanding members as it wraps up this year’s New Media Members activities.
Part 2, the 'It's Really Great Together' concert, will feature performances by three teams (Semi, Yelloweun, and Band Girin) and include a time to directly communicate with the protagonists of stories selected through a prior public contest.
Through the city’s official YouTube channel, 'BusanTube,' citizen stories were solicited and 20 stories were finally selected. On the day, the protagonists will introduce their stories themselves and interact with citizens through on-site interviews.
Even those not selected as on-site audience members can watch the concert later via 'BusanTube.'
Additionally, various programs allowing free coffee experiences will be provided as side events.
Visitors can enjoy coffee equipment exhibitions, hand drip brewing, barista performances, making Domohon drip bags, cookie icing, and tasting vegan bread and beverages without coffee.
An LED screen connecting the concert space and the outdoor terrace will be installed so that anyone visiting Domohon can enjoy warm coffee and a sweet Christmas concert.
Park Kwang-myeong, the city spokesperson, said, “This year especially shone as a year when New Media Members, acting as the eyes, ears, and voice of Busan citizens, added creativity to their firsthand policy experiences and promoted Busan to the world.” He added, “From the prompt construction of Gadeokdo New Airport to the establishment of world-class cultural and artistic infrastructure, we ask for continued interest and support so that our voices can reach further and deeper together with our citizens in Busan’s administration.”
