Dongducheon-si, Promotion of Agreement-Based Specialized High School Designation and Establishment of Government-Industry-Academia Cooperation System

Gyeonggi Northern Chamber of Commerce, Dongducheon Chamber of Commerce, and Korea Culture Video High School Jointly

Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 13th that on the 12th, as part of the Education Development Special Zone project, it signed a business agreement to promote the designation of a partnership-type specialized high school with the Dongducheon Chamber of Commerce of the Northern Gyeonggi Chamber of Commerce (Chairman Woo Gil-je) and Korea Culture and Video High School (Principal Kang Seong-min) at Dongyang University.

Korea Culture and Video High School is the only specialized high school in the district. In the Dongducheon City Education Development Special Zone, support is provided for promoting the designation of Korea Culture and Video High School as a partnership-type specialized high school to nurture talent aligned with future industries and to establish a local settlement system.


This year, the initiative began at the 3rd anniversary ceremony of the Dongducheon Chamber of Commerce of the Northern Gyeonggi Chamber of Commerce, which has 113 Dongducheon City companies registered as members.


The agreement included △ promoting joint development through frequent exchange of knowledge and information △ support from industry experts and establishment of industry-academia convergence education programs △ building governance to support the designation of partnership-type specialized high schools.


Mayor Park Hyung-deok of Dongducheon City stated, “Through this agreement, we hope to successfully attract partnership-type specialized high schools linked to the region, and we look forward to excellent students graduating from Korea Culture and Video High School finding employment at outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises in Dongducheon City and becoming the leaders driving the region forward.”
