The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 13th that it has imposed 5.9 billion KRW in automobile tax (including local education tax) for 35,548 cases for the second term of 2024 and sent out the tax bills on the 12th.
The automobile tax, which is imposed and collected twice a year based on the ownership recorded in the automobile registration ledger as of June 1 and December 1, is calculated on a pro-rata basis for this term according to the number of days the vehicle was owned from July 1 to December 31. Vehicles with an annual tax amount under 100,000 KRW that were paid in a lump sum in June are excluded from this billing.
The payment deadline is December 31, and a 3% surcharge will be added if the deadline is missed.
Payments can be made at all banks and post offices nationwide, and can also be conveniently completed without visiting a bank by using ▲Wetax ▲Giro ▲local tax revenue account transfers without transfer fees ▲or the simple payment system.
